Backstage Interview with Tramhouse
Caught backstage right after closing night one of Station Street Festival 2025, Dutch post-punk band Tramhouse sit down for a conversation that captures something rare: a band genuinely falling in love with a city in real time.
Fresh off a sweaty headline set — stepping in as surprise headliners after Acid Arab had to withdraw — Tramhouse share their first impressions of Plovdiv. They hiked up to the Ancient Theatre, marvelled at what Rotterdam decidedly does not have, and declared that if this is what Plovdiv is like, they want to come back all the time.
The interview touches on one of the most exciting revelations of the festival: the band is heading into the studio the following week for the first time in two years, and their "day off" in Plovdiv is actually a writing session at a local rehearsal space. The hint is dropped — and then confirmed — that a new song might be written right there in the city, and that it could end up on the next record. No pressure.
From Plovdiv, the road leads to Istanbul for the band's first ever show in Turkey, at a venue apparently spanning five floors.
A short, warm, and genuinely exciting backstage conversation with one of Europe's most talked-about post-punk bands — at the moment they discovered Plovdiv.
