Cotatcha Orchestra

Cotatcha Orchestra is an international jazz big band founded by award-winning trumpeter and composer Jiří Kotača with the vision of creating original big band music that expands beyond traditional jazz orchestra boundaries.

The ensemble brings together musicians from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Bulgaria and explores a wide range of musical influences, blending contemporary jazz with elements of other genres and electronic music. Over the years the orchestra has performed works by internationally recognized composers as well as new original compositions written specifically for the ensemble and its soloists.

Their album Bigband Electronics presents a unique combination of large jazz ensemble sound and electronic music. The album was nominated for the prestigious Anděl Prize (Czech Grammy) and received the Czech Jazz Harvest Award. 

In Plovdiv the orchestra will present music from the album together with new compositions from their upcoming recording project.
