European Street Food Awards - Bulgaria!

The European Street Food Awards competition for Bulgaria is organized by Station Street Festival with the support of the ESFA Bulgaria - Champion 2022, Bar Samar on Wheels.

The festival will take place in the heart of Plovdiv from September 5 to 8, 2024.

The aim of the competition is to gather the best culinary artists from Bulgaria to showcase their skills on the street food stage.

How to Join:

  1. Who can participate?

    • All professional chefs and culinary artists offering street food - quick, delicious, and easy-to-eat food - can apply.
    • Participants must present a valid business registration document as required by law (if applicable).

  2. What is the participation fee?

    • The application/participation fee is 500 BGN per day including VAT for each festival day. The deadline for payment is August 15, 2024.
    • The fee is non-refundable.

  3. How many will be selected?

    • A maximum of 8 finalists will be selected for the festival.
    • The selection will be made by a committee appointed by the organizers.

  4. What do finalists receive? (See prizes below)

    • Finalists can sell their street food and be an essential part of the Station Street Festival experience without owing any additional percentage fee on sales.
    • Finalists must provide all necessary equipment, products, and other items to prepare and offer their culinary creations.
    • Free accommodation for the team (up to 4 people) for those not from Plovdiv.
    • Biodegradable/PET plastic disposable tableware.
    • Shared refrigerator space for proper storage of food ingredients.
    • Marketing exposure: a report spot during the competition, a report video when presenting to the jury, and presence on social media and the event's official website.

How to Present:

  1. The Food:

    • Each participant must present a culinary concept and dish/item for the competition.
    • Dishes must be prepared on-site and must be street food - quick to prepare and easy to eat.

  2. The Jury:

    • An expert jury of professional chefs and culinary critics will judge the participants and their recipes.
    • Evaluation criteria include taste, originality of the recipe, food presentation, and compatibility with the street food concept - freshly prepared for quick, easy, and delicious eating on the go, appearance of the stand, customer service.

Prizes

  1. Grand Prize

    • The winner will have the opportunity and responsibility to represent Bulgaria at the grand finale of the European Street Food Awards 2024, competing against participants from across Europe. The competition takes place from October 4 to 6, 2024, in Germany.
    • Financial support of €1,000 for the trip to the finals.

  2. Additional Prizes

    • Audience award and awards in additional categories announced by the jury.
    • Each participant will receive a certificate of participation in the European Street Food Awards Bulgaria and recognition for their contribution to the Station Street Festival.

Important Information

  1. Responsibility

    • Participants are responsible for complying with all health and hygiene regulations as required by the laws and institutions of the country.
    • The organizers are not responsible for any damages or losses incurred during the festival.

  2. Program Changes

    • The organizers reserve the right to make changes to the program and competition conditions if necessary, informing participants in a timely manner.
