Nikolay Tabakov

Nikolay Tabakov is a freelance artist, musician, painter, and gallery owner, best known for his handcrafted art lamps. Born and living in the town of Dupnitsa, Tabakov began creating his unique lamps around 12 years ago, inspired by traditional Moroccan lamps made of metal and leather. Mastering the technique took him a year and a half, during which he developed his own style and concept, which has since become popular and recognizable in Bulgaria.

Tabakov's works are crafted with original design, with each lamp made with great attention to detail. The metal frame of the lamps is handmade by him through welding, while the paper he uses, which is also handmade, comes from Nepal. His lamps combine aesthetics and functionality, with each model being unique, born out of his inspiration and creativity. Nikolay often says, "Every lamp has its person, and every person has their lamp," emphasizing the personal and customized nature of his creations.

Activities and Workshops: Nikolay Tabakov not only creates lamps but also actively shares his art with others through workshops and team-building events at his gallery "Lampion" in Sofia and at various locations across Bulgaria. More than 2,000 people have participated in these workshops, where they have learned about the techniques and creative process of making art lamps.
