Acid Arab

Paris meets Maghreb. Acid Arab ignite the cobblestones with a hypnotic blend of machines and ancient melodies, beyond borders and genres.

Emerging from the vibrant cross-cultural scene of Paris over a decade ago, Acid Arab is a powerful Franco-Algerian collective founded by Pierre-Yves Casanova, Nicolas Borne, Hervé Carvalho, Guido Minisky, and Kenzi Bourras. With their electrifying fusion of sharp Western electronic music and rich Eastern sounds and vocals, they have captivated festival and club audiences across the globe.

Their mission has always been clear: to carve out space for Arab culture within contemporary electronic music. Through years of collaborations and deep travel across the Mediterranean and beyond, they’ve patiently developed a distinct and boundary-pushing style.

After releasing a series of EPs under the French label Versatile, they joined Crammed Discs and dropped their acclaimed debut album Musique de France in 2016, followed by Jdid in 2019. With hundreds of shows in over 50 countries across four continents, Acid Arab has become a force in global electronic music.

In 2023, they released their highly anticipated third album ٣ (Trois) — a set of powerful club tracks that also offer intimate, emotionally rich moments. The album features eight guest vocalists from North Africa, Syria, and Turkey — including Cem Yıldız, Sofiane Saïdi, Cheb Halim, and the late Rachid Taha — blending Algerian gasba, Anatolian trance, synthetic dabkeh, bionic raï, and more. The result is a sweeping sonic journey that erases borders between genres while expanding the possibilities of sound.
