Vanessa Lu

Exploring Female Presence and Self-Portraiture in 20th Century Photography.

Vanessa Lu is currently a Ph.D researcher at the National Academy of Arts, researching the theme of female presence in photography during the second half of the 20th century.

Her research interests lie in the field of self-portraiture, understood as a method of self-exploration and analysis of inner spaces.

Vanessa Lu holds a Master’s degree in Photography from the National Academy of Arts. She has held two solo exhibitions in Valencia and Tokyo and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Bulgaria.

The main areas in which she works are alternative photographic processes and camera-less techniques.
