Tsvetan from Focacceria Di Choni made history in street food by winning the Best Sandwich category at the prestigious European Street Food Awards, held in Germany between October 4 and 6, 2024. Tsvetan’s success journey began at the Station Street Festival in Plovdiv, where he won the Bulgarian edition of the competition with his unique focaccia concept.

His award-winning dish – focaccia with homemade cream cheese, roasted herbs and truffle, mortadella, pistachios, stracciatella, roasted cherry tomatoes, and arugula – captivated both the audience and a panel of culinary experts. After weeks of preparation and years of mastering the art of dough-making, Tsvetan’s sandwich won the hearts of over 100,000 voters across Europe.

Tsvetan, known for his extensive work with dough, shared that this success is the culmination of eight years of dedication. “There is no option but success,” he says. _“You’ve never tasted anything like this because no one has explored dough the way I have.” _

After his grand victory in Germany, fans of street food are eagerly awaiting his next creations.
